Entry-Level Utility Technician - Essential Services Provider

Location: Pensacola, FL
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


Pay: $18/hr

A local water company here in Pensacola is looking for a candidate for a Utility Technician position to add to their team! This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the utilities industry with plenty of room for growth. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and being part of a team that keeps the community running, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repair:

• Locate and repair leaks in water and sewer lines.
• Replace damaged utility components like valves, fittings, and meters.
• Clean and maintain utility infrastructure, including fire hydrants and lift stations.
• Perform routine inspections of utility lines and equipment.
• Assist with the installation of new utility lines and service connections.
• Dig trenches and backfill excavations safely and efficiently.
• Install and connect new water meters.

Emergency Response:

• Respond to emergency calls for utility disruptions, including leaks or outages.
• Isolate leaks and take quick action to minimize damage.

Additional Duties:

• Read and record water meter data accurately.
• Perform landscaping and maintenance on city properties.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Requirements:

• Comfortable working long shifts outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• MUST HAVE a high school diploma or GED.
• MUST HAVE a Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and your own transportation.
• MUST be able to pass a Level 2 Background Check.
• Must comply with the company's Drug-Free Workplace Policy .
• Medical marijuana cards are not accepted; all employees must pass required drug screenings.
