Part-Time Bookkeeper – QuickBooks Experience Required

Location: Danbury, CT
Pay: $33.00–$35.00 per hour
Employment Type : Contract-to-Hire / Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Part-time, three days per week

A distribution company in the Danbury area is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage essential day-to-day accounting functions. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is confident working independently, values accuracy and confidentiality, and has strong hands-on QuickBooks experience.

Schedule

The preferred schedule is:

• Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Ideally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM on scheduled days
• Three consistent workdays per week

Applicants should be comfortable committing to the established part-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and accurately categorize income, expenses, invoices, receipts, and other financial transactions
• Manage accounts payable, including processing bills and vendor payments
• Prepare and send customer invoices
• Track incoming payments and support accounts receivable activity
• Follow up on outstanding customer balances when needed
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Prepare payroll information and coordinate with the company’s payroll provider
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records in QuickBooks
• Produce monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow summaries
• Handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion

Qualifications

• At least two years of bookkeeping experience
• Strong, hands-on QuickBooks experience is required
• QuickBooks certification is preferred but not required
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Good Microsoft Excel or spreadsheet skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive company and financial information
