Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our healthcare team in New York, NY. The Dental Hygienist will provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene services, support patient education, and maintain accurate clinical documentation while ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene procedures, including removal of calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains.
• Polish teeth and provide preventive dental care.
• Apply topical agents, pit and fissure sealants, and desensitizing agents as appropriate.
• Take and document patient medical histories and vital signs.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene education and preventive care instructions.
• Place and expose dental X-ray films as required.
• Chart caries and periodontal conditions accurately.
• Assess patient needs before, during, and after dental procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Follow established clinical, safety, and infection-control procedures.
• Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.

 

Required Qualifications

• Valid New York State Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
• Primary Source Verification of license required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
• Valid New York State certificate to Administer & Monitor Local Infiltration Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia .
• Strong patient-care and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Proficiency in English — speaking, reading, and writing.
