Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a fast-paced 8-room surgical suite requiring BLS, CST, and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room setting with 8 ORs on the surgical unit
• Day shift schedule from 0630 to 1700 with daily huddle at 0645
• Staffing includes 13 RNs and 10 scrub techs, with 8 RNs and 8 scrub techs on day shift
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Uses Meditech ORM EMR system
• Procedures include general surgery, robotics, colorectal surgery, neuro spine, ortho, and urology
• Floating to other like areas as needed
• On-call rotation required with a 45-minute response time, including weekday call from end of shift until 7am and 24-hour weekend call on Saturday and Sunday

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and CST certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent OR nursing experience required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Flexible and adaptable personality suited to a dynamic OR environment
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital
• Artificial nails, dips, gels, and similar nail treatments are not permitted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
