You will work closely with production and other teams to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and support day-to-day manufacturing activities. You will also use data and continuous improvement principles to help drive better performance and reliable results.**A typical day as a Process Engineer might include:*** Providing engineering support in multiple areas of manufacturing.* Specifying, developing, justifying, implementing, and sustaining assembly equipment and materials.* Improving quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic objectives.* Applying statistical problem solving to identify root causes.* Evaluating new equipment and processes and process improvement activities.* Interpreting results and providing recommendations to management.* Keeping abreast of new developments in equipment, industry standards, best practices, and developments in assembly processes.* Modeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.**This job might be for you if:*** You have a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.* You have two years' experience in process development in a related world class manufacturing company.* You can lead a cross functional team.* You can influence others and reach consensus.* You have project management experience.* You have knowledge of statistics as applied to process capability measurements.* You have effective writing, documentation, and speaking skills.* You can work cooperatively in a team environment.* You have background check results satisfactory to SEL.* You have negative drug test result(s).**It is a plus if you have:*** Thorough understanding of the materials used in the industry.**Physical Requirements**None**About Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories** SEL designs, manufactures, and supports products and systems that protect, monitor, control, and automate electric power systems.
