Staff - Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice - $74K-88K per year

Registered Nurse (RN) On Call – 7 Days On, 7 Days Off Gentiva is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as an After‑Hours Hospice RN. The role supports patients and families by providing compassionate care during evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. Schedule 7 days on / 7 days off with on‑call coverage for evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager Senior. Provide direct patient care and support outside normal business hours. Serve as the primary liaison between patients, families, physicians, and the hospice team during the shift. Respond promptly and compassionately to urgent calls, patient visits, and symptom management needs. Evaluate patient and family needs to guide clinical decisions and implement the plan of care. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary group including LPNs/LVNs, CNAs, and other support staff. Accurately document clinical visits and communications. Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement programs. Work independently while ensuring continuity of care and coordination with the daytime care team. Requirements Current RN license in the state of employment (or eligibility to obtain). 1+ years of nursing experience. Compassionate, calm, and dependable in urgent care situations. Excellent clinical judgment and ability to provide support in emotionally intense settings. Comfortable providing care in patients’ homes, facilities, or other residences. Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Current CPR certification. Preferred Experience (Not Required) 1+ years of hospice, home health, oncology, or palliative care experience. Familiarity with symptom management, triage, and after‑hours home‑based care. Prior experience in on‑call or overnight nursing roles. Strong documentation and electronic medical records (EMR) skills. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $71,450 – $89,335. Compensation may vary based on location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, and department equity.
