Exciting Opportunity for Passionate Nurses in Pre/Post Anesthesia Care!

Job Description:


- Shift Details:
- 12-Hour Shifts: Day/Evening
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- 2 Fridays & 2 Mondays per 4-week rotation
- 12-Hour call requirement


- Unit Information:
- Unit: 2W Pre/Post Day Surgery
- Cost Center: 76 WVUH Nursing Pre and Post Anesthesia
- Total Beds: 70
- Provides both Phase 1 & 2 Recovery Care

- Nurse to Patient Ratios:
- Phase 1: 1:1, 1:2
- Phase 2: 1:3


- Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)

- Common Cases Handled:
- Orthopedics
- ENT
- Ophthalmology
- GYN
- Urology
- Endoscopy
- Bronchoscopy
- Podiatry

- Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year experience
- Familiarity with EMR: EPIC

- Charge Nurse & House Supervisor:
- Goal is a free Charge Nurse, but will take assignments if needed
- House Supervisor available at all times

- Support Staff:
- Perioperative Care Assistants (PCA) at a 1:7 ratio

- Patient Care:
- ICU patients recover in PACU
- RNs read strips


- Additional Information:
- Floating Requirements: May float to Pre/Post on 5North, 6North as needed
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: OR scrubs
- Unit/Department Orientation: Up to 3 shifts in 2W Pre/Post
