This opportunity is designed for an experienced public accounting professional who has successfully led complex audit engagements, developed high-performing audit teams, and built lasting client relationships. The ideal candidate is a confident leader with exceptional technical expertise in both for-profit and nonprofit audits and a proven ability to independently manage multiple client engagements from planning through completion. Key Responsibilities Lead audit and review engagements from initial planning through final delivery Oversee audit and review services for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations Supervise, mentor, coach, and develop senior and junior audit professionals Review workpapers, financial statements, audit reports, and engagement documentation Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned audit clients Build and maintain long‑term client relationships through proactive communication Partner with Audit leadership to coordinate engagement planning, staffing, and scheduling Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, profitability, and overall project performance Ensure compliance with professional auditing standards and firm quality requirements Identify opportunities to improve engagement efficiency and client service Required Qualifications 6–10+ years of progressive public accounting audit experience Prior Audit Manager experience within a public accounting firm Minimum of three (3) years serving as an Audit Manager at your current firm Active CPA license in good standing Extensive experience leading both for‑profit and nonprofit audit engagements Proven ability to independently manage multiple audit engagements Strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills Strong organizational, analytical, and project management abilities U.S.-based applicants only Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Experience managing complex audit portfolios with multiple simultaneous engagements Demonstrated success developing and mentoring audit professionals Strong understanding of nonprofit financial reporting and compliance requirements Experience working directly with Audit Partners and executive leadership Strong business development and client retention abilities Experience improving audit processes and engagement efficiencies History of delivering exceptional client service while meeting strict deadlines HireNow Package Compensation: $90,000–$130,000 annually Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package and professional development opportunities Employment Type: Full-Time Work Location: Onsite – Lincolnshire, Illinois Headcount: 1 HireNow Checklist HireNow Staffing is recruiting an Audit Manager who demonstrates the following: Active CPA license 6–10+ years of public accounting audit experience Proven Audit Manager experience within a CPA firm Minimum three years serving as an Audit Manager at their current firm Extensive experience managing both for‑profit and nonprofit audits Ability to independently lead audit engagements from planning through completion Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills Exceptional client communication and relationship management abilities Strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality Meets all required qualifications and demonstrates several preferred qualifications HireNow Standout Candidates Candidates will be viewed most favorably if they demonstrate: Long‑term success managing complex audit engagements with minimal oversight Experience mentoring and developing future audit leaders Exceptional client retention and relationship management skills Strong project management and engagement budgeting experience Deep understanding of nonprofit accounting and auditing standards Ability to identify process improvements that increase engagement efficiency Stable employment history demonstrating reliability, leadership, and long‑term commitment HireNow Disqualifiers The following will prevent candidates from moving forward in the hiring process: Frequent unexplained job changes or unstable employment history (jumpy resumes will not be accepted or interviewed) No active CPA license Less than 6 years of public accounting audit experience No prior Audit Manager experience Less than three years serving as an Audit Manager at their current firm Limited or no experience managing both for‑profit and nonprofit audit engagements Inability to independently manage audit engagements Inability to work onsite in Lincolnshire, Illinois Applicants requiring employment sponsorship Candidates who do not meet the core qualifications listed for this position HireNow Staffing Disclaimer HireNow Staffing is acting as a direct placement partner for this Audit Manager opportunity.
