The Opportunity

Many small businesses start from an entrepreneur’s passion for their craft - usually a product or service - and a desire to share their craft with the world. Almost by definition these new entrepreneurs are not experts on starting or scaling a business, and Quickbooks has helped many millions of businesses every year launch, scale, and thrive.

Easy access to capital, and strategically applying funds to accelerate growth or bridge rocky cashflows, has an outsized impact on a business’s prospect. Yet access to capital is still a highly opaque, anxious process for most customers and overwhelmingly they avoid exploring financing options due to fears of rejection, qualifying less money than they actually need, or taking far more time than they believe is worth spending to access funds.

Quickbooks has a unique opportunity - as a financial management platform and as a lender - to help customers understand the business metrics that have an outsized impact on survivability and growth and the actions that they can take to meaningfully improve them. In the short term, this product will be focused on demystifying access to credit and providing customers with a path to improving their borrowing power and approval odds. In the longer term, we have the opportunity to provide an experience like Credit Karma, but for small businesses: genuinely useful, deeply personalized, and compelling enough that people come back on their own.

We’re looking for a product leader with a track record of conceptualizing and scaling high-engagement customer experiences that meaningfully affect customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deeply understand our customers - learn into the most compelling customer segments to serve through direct engagement with business owners of all stripes. Leverage research, quantitative, and qualitative data to build the foundation for this new product.
• Own the strategy and execution for our Borrowing Power and Small Business Health roadmap – including designing, launching, and scaling experiences that delight and drive results for multiple customers segments
• Define and drive the key metrics, including engagement, product attach rate, and improvements in customer health, that we use to evaluate the success of our products
• Set the tempo for speed and experimentation - leveraging AI to accelerate analyses, rapid prototyping and experimentation, and cross-functional operations.

Qualifications

• Experience: 6+ years in Product Management, building delightful, high-engagement consumer-facing products
• Execution:You have a track record of high velocity and high quality, thoughtfully shipping incremental products en route to a generally available product that inflects the shape of the businesses. This role will entail vision, strategy, design, and more, but the foundation is a senior product leader who gets in the weeds and ships great work.
• Strategy:Clear articulation of the customer segments and product solutions you will bring to market, in what order, and why. Ability to distill production metrics, market research, and customer insights into trusted takeaways that inform downstream decisions.
• Sharp with data:You know what to measure, where the drop-off is, and what to do about it. You use AI tools to move faster, not to replace your own judgment.
• Executive communication:You can explain a complex strategy to a leadership audience in five minutes and dive into the nitty gritty with engineers, designers, analysts, and more. You are comfortable at multiple altitudes.

Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
