About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Associate II to support electrical transmission and substation capital improvement projects. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in electrical substation design, high-voltage transmission systems, and AutoCAD drafting. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer while contributing to engineering design, project planning, cost estimating, and field coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual electrical substation layouts and one-line drawings using AutoCAD.
• Support electrical transmission capital improvement projects from planning through design.
• Prepare engineering studies, calculations, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Develop project scopes of work and assist with project planning activities.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, field personnel, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct field inspections, engineering analyses, and performance evaluations.
• Prepare drafting packages, schematics, diagrams, material lists, and project documentation.
• Support testing activities and validate engineering data.
• Assist with project reviews, implementation planning, and quality assurance.
• Travel independently to substations and project sites as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Or a related engineering/science discipline
• Minimum 1 year of post-bachelor's engineering experience related to the position.
