Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10 hours Hours per Shift: 0700 - 1730 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: VA License required Certifications: BLS required for RN and Tech; CST required Must-Have: Experience in orthopedics, total joints, orthopedic spine, general surgery, urology, and DaVinci Xi. Description: The position requires scrubbing. There are 7 surgical suites available. The average number of cases per day ranges from 15 to 25. Common cases include general and colorectal procedures (laparoscopic, open, DaVinci Xi), total joints (hips, knees, shoulders), arthroscopy, orthopedic spine, urology, and plastics (medical and cosmetic). Call requirements are 2-3 weekends for 12-hour shifts within a six-week schedule. Additional call may be required during weeknights and weekends based on unit needs. Holiday requirements include 1 major holiday. A mandatory call/standby requirement is in place with a call response time of 45 minutes. Floating to other areas of the facility is not required. The department operates 24/7 with staffing primarily on weekdays. Scrubs will be provided. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. Weeknight and weekend staffing rely on an on-call team. Orientation includes 5 days of unit-specific training. Only required to take call, with no floating expectations. Epic access is needed for this position.
