Unit Information

Location: Denver, CO

Unit: 3rd Floor Medical/Telemetry

Number of Beds: 18

Staffing: 32 Team Members

Patient Care and Ratios

Patient Ratios: 6:1 RN

Equipment and Software

Philips Monitors
Alaris Pumps
Dopplers
Welch-Allyn Vital Sign Machines
Mobilab
Glucometers

Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

1 year of current acute care hospital telemetry experience
Current BLS & ACLS certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

NIH Stroke Scale Certification
Prior experience with Meditech

Typical Procedures on the Unit

Minimally invasive surgeries
Colectomy
Ostomy creation and takedown
Artificial airway creation and management
Podiatry and plastics procedures

Common Diagnoses: CHF, COPD, cellulitis, sepsis, DKA, pneumonia

Skills Required: Proficient in tracheostomy and ostomy care

Able to shift priorities with ease and enjoy precepting and coaching new nurses

Unit Guidelines

Core staff typically work four weekend shifts per schedule period, and travelers may be scheduled similarly based on their preferences.
