Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and the ability to float across multiple ICU specialties. Requirements Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact license with NC as the state of practice Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) Current ACLS certification Current NIHSS certification Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred Two professional references required for consideration Responsibilities Float pool position covering all ICU units within a large academic medical center, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center ICUs May also float to stepdown units as needed Patient ratios are typically 1:1 and no greater than 1:3 in ICU settings; stepdown assignments carry a 1:3 ratio Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week) Every other weekend (EOW) required Every other holiday (EOH) required No on-call required Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process across multiple ICU specialties as part of an inpatient float team Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and update patient care plans, including discharge planning for complex cases Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan Applies cultural competence and patient/family-centered communication throughout the care process Drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of accepting an offer; background check and drug screen processing may take at least 2 weeks and will affect start date if delayed Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-710720 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
