Shipping Clerk / Warehouse Worker

This role combines warehouse operations and shipping responsibilities to support accurate inventory control, timely order fulfillment, and efficient movement of materials. You will handle receiving, picking, packaging, and shipping activities while ensuring that all inventory data remains precise and up to date in the company's systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate physical receiving of materials and products to maintain the integrity of inventory control.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and products to the appropriate departments within the facility.
• Prepare and pick work orders for the production plant or customer pick-ups according to schedule.
• Receive and process warehouse stock products, including picking, unloading, labeling, and storing items in the correct locations.
• Complete regular cycle counts to verify inventory levels and identify discrepancies.
• Monitor and maintain the accuracy of data entered into the ERP system and other inventory tools.
• Align and communicate with key stakeholders such as Procurement, Production, Planning, and logistics service providers to coordinate material flow and shipments.
• Follow established procedures for packaging, shipping, and warehouse operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Support general warehouse duties as needed, including organizing storage areas and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with warehouse packing, inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
• Ability to perform shipping, packaging, and general warehouse tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal employees and external customers.
• Organized and detail-oriented approach to handling inventory and documentation.
• Proficiency using computers for data entry, including working with ERP or inventory systems.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with ERP systems or other warehouse management software.
• Experience in coordinating with Procurement, Production, Planning, and logistics service providers.
• Comfort working in a small, performance-focused team environment.
• Demonstrated reliability and accountability in previous warehouse or shipping roles.

Work Environment

The role involves regular use of computers and an ERP system for data entry and inventory management. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dulles, VA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
