The Registered Dental Hygienist plays a crucial role in providing direct patient care within a general dentistry setting. This position involves assessing oral hygiene, delivering patient education, performing dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy, and maintaining thorough documentation. The hygienist works independently while collaborating closely with the dentist to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities

• Conduct oral hygiene assessments and periodontal charting
• Educate patients on oral health, hygiene, and prevention techniques
• Perform dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy
• Take radiographs and maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix Ascend
• Implement infection control and sterilization procedures
• Schedule patient appointments and manage clinical workflow
• Collaborate with dentists and maintain comprehensive charting and documentation
• Ensure proper equipment sterilization and clinic sanitation standards

 

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in dental hygiene
• Proficiency in dental radiography and periodontal charting
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and patient education techniques
• Oral health assessment expertise
• Experience with dental software, especially Dentrix Ascend
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and effective time management
