North Reading Public Schools J. Turner Hood Elementary School – North Reading, Massachusetts Starting Date: Sep 1, 2026 Job Title Full-Day Kindergarten Teacher (2026-2027) Job Description The J. Turner Hood Elementary School is seeking a Full-Day Kindergarten Teacher starting in the 2026‑2027 school year. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and are supported to reach their potential. New educators are required to attend a two‑day new staff orientation on dates still to be determined. The first contractual day for North Reading Public School educators is September 1, 2026. Essential Duties Unit/lesson planning Direct instruction of students Assessment of student learning and student report cards Be available to conference with parents/guardians and families as needed Work closely with the Kindergarten team to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained Other duties as requested by the Building Principal or their designee Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field; Master’s Degree preferred Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Early Childhood, grades PreK‑2 Experience with Fundations Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement Strong interpersonal skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to implement good behavior management skills with students At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred Citizenship, residency, or work visa required Additional Benefits Additional benefits are outlined in the current North Reading Education Association (NREA) contract.
