Exciting Opportunity for NICU RN!

Job Description:


- Position: NICU RN
- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:30)
- Location: SMMC NICU
- NICU Level: III
- Patient Volume: Approximately 190 births per month
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in specialty
- Local Radius: 50 miles
- Start Date: ASAP
- Float Requirement: May float to MB for babies, fully if couplet experience
- Required Certifications:
- BCLS
- NRP (Advanced NRP preferred, willing to accept basic NRP if willing to obtain advanced before start)
- PALS

Scheduling Details:


- Weekends: Every other, may exceed to accommodate unit needs
- On-Call Requirement: No
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Patient Care Details:


- Age Groups: Neonates, Infants
- Daily Census: Dynamic patient flow within the unit
- Patient Diagnoses:
- Prematurity
- Feeders and Growers
- Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)
- Hypoglycemia
- Jaundice
- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)

Skills & Experience Required:


- Expertise in management of:
- Central Lines
- Blood Glucose Monitoring
- Feeding (Bottle/Breast/Gavage)
- High Frequency Ventilation
- Administration of medications
- Neonatal Sepsis Work Up


Support Services Available:


- Interdisciplinary support includes:
- Respiratory Services
- Social Services
- Pharmacy

Special Procedures Include:


- Central line management, ROP exams, spinal taps, and intubations.
