ESN Event Strategist - Independent Contractor

Overview We are seeking experienced hospitality sales and meeting‑planning professionals to join the ESN, an independent event‑strategist team supporting the Maritz brand. The role is a commission‑based, independent contractor opportunity in which you will design and implement meeting and incentive solutions for clients across U.S. markets. Responsibilities Identify, develop, and pursue new accounts Conduct site selection research and present recommendations to prospective clients Prepare, present, and negotiate sales proposals and client agreements Initiate and negotiate hotel and meeting‑facility contracts Manage client accounts and perform related administrative tasks Maintain a pipeline of prospects and add prospects to the company CRM upon joining Utilize proprietary benchmarking tools, sales materials, and CRM analytics to enhance performance Qualifications Minimum five years of sales experience, preferably within hospitality; other sales experience is welcome Evidence of LLC or business license Strong hotel‑buying experience and knowledge of program/event budget maintenance preferred Familiarity with travel supplier operations, U.S. domestic or international hotels, and destinations preferred Established sales pipeline with a detailed prospect list to be added to the CRM Proven negotiation skills and track record of developing and maintaining key client and supplier relationships Ability to work independently as an entrepreneur while representing Maritz privately Exclusion & Eligibility Residency is limited to the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.; California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, and Puerto Rico are excluded.
