For over 55 years, Loggers & Contractors Supply has been the trusted backbone for timber, excavation, and heavy construction crews across the Pacific Northwest. Operating out of our Sedro-Woolley hub, we supply the heavy-duty gear that keeps regional industry running: wire rope rigging, chokers, hardware, hydraulic hoses and fittings, cutting equipment, and shop essentials.

The Opportunity: Learn While You Earn

Looking to break out of manual labor or flat-rate retail into a lucrative, skilled sales career? You do not need prior sales experience—we will teach you the business from the shop floor up.

This role is structured as an Apprenticeship-to-Sales track:

1. Phase 1 (The Foundation): Learn the products, warehouse flow, and counter customer service hands-on.
2. Phase 2 (Inside Sales): Take orders, quote bids, build custom hydraulic assemblies, and manage phone inquiries.
3. Phase 3 (Outside Field Sales): Ride along to active logging sites and contractor yards, build long-term accounts, and unlock high-earning outside sales commissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Mastery & Shop Operations: Receive, pick, and stage orders while getting hands-on training in rigging fabrication, custom hydraulic hose assembly, and hardware selection.
• Counter & Phone Sales: Assist walk-in loggers, contractors, and mechanics; answer product questions, generate accurate price quotes, and process sales orders.
• Field Training: Shadow experienced sales reps on visits to active jobsites, logging operations, and customer shops across Skagit and neighboring counties.
• Inventory Control: Restock shelves, verify physical stock counts, and ensure order staging areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
• Account Development: Transition gradually from order taker to trusted advisor, eventually establishing and running your own book of commercial accounts.

What We Are Looking For

• Mechanically Minded: You like working with your hands, understanding how mechanical systems fit together, and learning heavy-duty equipment.
• Strong People Skills: Friendly, professional, and confident communicating face-to-face, over the phone, and by email.
• Work Ethic & Teachable Attitude: Dependable, punctual, willing to take feedback, and motivated to build a long-term career.
• Physical Capability: Able to lift up to 75 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work safely in a busy warehouse/counter setting.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license and a clean, insurable driving record (required for eventual client visits).
• Tech Basics: Comfortable with basic computer tasks (email, lookups, and inventory/order entry systems—we will train you on our internal software).

Helpful Background (Not Required):

• Experience in logging, forestry, construction, agriculture, heavy equipment, or automotive/parts counter sales (e.g., Napa, tractor/implement dealerships, hardware supply).

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting Base Pay: $19.00/hour (entry-level / zero sales experience) up to $25.00/hour (starting higher for relevant parts, logging, or equipment experience).
• Commission Opportunities: Eligible to earn sales commission while still in training .
