Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary Handle all Receiving duties related to the purchasing of supplies and equipment for large scientific department. Deliver items to labs in 7 buildings daily and assist with clearing Accounts Payable matters. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Physically receive, open, and match deliveries of ordered items to pending orders. Make notes to follow up missing, incorrect, or damaged items on orders. Includes receipt of frozen items and live animals that require special attention and handling. Restock consignment freezers with temperature sensitive received stock. Deliver received items to lab on daily, timely basis, and obtain required signatures for compliance. Complete online accounting entries for received items daily and take appropriate actions for missing, damaged, or incorrect items with vendors and purchasing. Label and replenish stockroom inventory items. Deliver gas cylinders, oversee timely filling of liquid nitrogen storage tank and cylinder deliveries at two docks. Assist with fleet vehicle needs and oversight. Filing and photocopying as needed. Maintain Department Tracking Systems: Input incoming chemicals into the department’s chemical tracking system (EHS Assist); Barcode all incoming chemicals; Maintain accuracy of the stockroom’s chemicals in EHS Assist; Assist research lab personnel with keeping their lab’s inventory correct in EHS Assist; Set up new users in EHS Assist and give instruction for use and convey the importance of the system; Maintain the gas cylinder tracking program. Back-Up Stockroom manager: In the absence of the Stockroom manager, (vacation, sick days, conferences, etc.), perform the tasks of the manager. Register Assets in workday and perform periodic Asset inventory. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Physical Effort Must be able to lift and move 65 pounds regularly. There will be some exposure to loud noises. There will be everyday exposure to chemicals and acids. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
