The company was founded on the principle of "Built on Honor" – a clear and abiding value in our business.Position DescriptionThe responsibilities of this position are wide and varied; including: providing "help desk" support via phone and e-mail to users and servicers of HPL's products; conducting training classes and seminars on operating, servicing, and maintaining Hartzell products; tracking field problems and working with the Product Engineering Group to develop solutions; writing and reviewing service literature; providing on-site support for operators and OEM's; attending trade shows and visiting operators and aviation facilities to answer technical questions and perform technical audits; adjudicating warranty claims; and after-hours AOG support.Key Deliverables1) Provide help desk support for customers / maintainers of our products.2) Provide warranty processing support, analysis and reporting.3) Assist with development of maintenance manuals and service literature.4) Provide feedback to engineering regarding product issues and improvement opportunities.5) Attend IA seminars and trade shows to provide technical support and training in our products.6) Develop and lead maintenance training programs/presentations for our products.RequirementsFirst Year Success Factors:1) Develop a working relationship with Maintenance and OE customer base.2) Develop thorough understanding of Hartzell product maintenance and overhaul requirements and procedures.3) Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the warranty and service issue database.4) Develop skills to review and create maintenance manuals and service literature.5) Develop a working understanding of each of our products:a) Through reading and understanding the maintenance manuals and product drawings;b) By performing hands-on product assembly, tear down, and returns evaluation;c) By attending, and later assisting in, product training classes for field students;d) As they relate to specific airframe / engine types;e) By learning troubleshooting procedures for their systems.Required Education/Experience:Bachelor of Science preferred or equivalent experienceRequired Technical Competencies:1) Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of general aviation systems2) Strong troubleshooting skills3) In-depth understanding of blue print reading and drawings4) Ability to visualize from sketches, photos and verbal descriptions5) Knowledge and use of standard hand tools and measuring tools6) Basic understanding of inspection methods7) Strong technical writing skills8) Ability to read and interpret technical manuals9) Basic understanding of Aviation vocabulary10) Strong communication skills including the ability to present technical information11) Basic computer skills; (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)Desired Secondary Technical Competencies:1) Strong Interest in Aviation2) A&P Mechanic's license.3) Pilot's license4) Repair station experience5) Inspection AuthorizationRequired Behavioral Competencies:1) Ownership – Take ownership in resolving field issues, spearheading any required Root Cause/Corrective Actions within Hartzell to eliminate future occurrences.2) Adaptability – Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.3) Continuous Learning – Actively identifies new areas for learning; regularly creates and takes advantage of learning opportunities; uses newly gained knowledge and skill on the job and learns through their application.4) Customer Focus – Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develops and sustains productive customer relationships.5) Initiates Action – Takes prompt action to accomplish objectives; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive.6) Manages Work - Effectively manages own time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.7) Work Standards – Sets high standards of performance for self; assumes responsibility and accountability for successful completion of assignments or tasks.Our CultureWe are a team that prides ourselves on a culture that supports shared values of empowerment, accountability, drive, integrity, and respect.
