Job Title

Surgical Scrub Technician – Variable Shift (10/12 HR)

Key Responsibilities

• Independently scrub a broad range of surgical procedures including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology
• Assist with OR turnover cleaning between cases
• Transport patients as needed within the department
• Participate in on-call rotation — coverage is 24/7; expected call frequency is approximately 1–2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month, with a 20-minute callback requirement
• Orient on day shift for up to one week or at the discretion of the department manager
• Maintain an active State of Hawaii Surgical Technologist license prior to assignment start date

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of scrubbing experience in a hospital OR setting
• Active State of Hawaii license required by the start of the assignment — travelers not currently holding an active HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer
• Ability to independently scrub across multiple surgical specialties
• Availability for a variable schedule operating between 06:45–23:15 based on department needs
• Ability to meet a 20-minute on-call callback requirement
• If requesting time off (RTO), traveler must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract duration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced OR environment
• Familiarity with robotic surgical platforms
• Comfort working in a small but busy OR setting with 1–2 rooms running simultaneously
