As a Jr. High school-based Special Education Teacher (LBS1) in Illinois, your days will include: Provide individualized, small-group, and classroom instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), incorporating appropriate accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based instructional strategies. Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs while monitoring student progress through ongoing assessment, data collection, and documentation. Serve as a case manager for assigned students, coordinating services and communicating regularly with families, educators, administrators, and related service providers. Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth. Collaborate with general education teachers and multidisciplinary team members to support students in accessing the curriculum and making meaningful progress toward their educational goals. Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, professional development, and other school-based initiatives. Maintain accurate student records and ensure services, accommodations, modifications, and educational programming are implemented in accordance with each student's IEP. Job Details Position: Special Education Teacher (LBS1) Grade Level: Jr. High Start Date: August 17, 2026 End Date: End of the 2026-2027 School Year Hours: 33.75 hours per week Daily Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Teacher Institute Days: August 17-18, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. First Day of Student Attendance: August 20, 2026, with a 1:30 p.m. early dismissal Teachers report 10 minutes before the normal student day and may leave 15 minutes after the normal student school day.
