In this role, you will manage patient care from initial assessment through treatment and follow up, assist supervising physicians in clinic, hospital, surgical, and on call settings as needed, and work within established protocols to deliver safe, high quality care to patients of all ages.What You Will DoConduct health assessments, physical exams, and diagnostic testing to evaluate patient health statusDiagnose and treat illnesses within your scope of practice and develop individualized treatment plansOrder diagnostic procedures, including x-rays, and prescribe medications according to established protocolsCounsel patients and families on preventive care, treatment options, and disease managementAssist the supervising physician in surgery, clinic, in-patient rounding, and on call coverage as neededRespond to urgent and emergent patient needs, including life sustaining interventions when requiredMaintain timely, accurate documentation of patient histories, exams, and care plansCollaborate closely with supervising physicians, nursing staff, and the broader care team to coordinate patient careRefer patients to specialists or other services as appropriateWhat You BringActive, unrestricted license through the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and SupervisionGraduate of an accredited Physician Assistant programNational certification as a Physician AssistantCurrent CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hireCurrent malpractice coverage as required by the Board of TrusteesClinic or ambulatory care experience preferredPhysical Requirements This role requires the ability to perform clinical duties, including frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 60 lbs, along with the vision, hearing, and manual dexterity needed to safely assess and treat patients.
