Youll be part of a team that genuinely cares about helping you succeed, and youll work alongside talented colleagues, while making a difference in our communities./ph3Position Summary/h3pThe Quality Control Coordinator works under the direction of the Quality Control (QC) Manager in administrating the quality control program for the La Bodega distribution center based on company quality standards. This position focuses on assisting with inspection of incoming and loads, as well as existing inventory to ensure product meets company standards and communicating issues and concerns to the QC Manager. The majority of time spent in this position involves working on the distribution center floor assisting with the inspection of agricultural commodities such as: fruits, vegetables and other perishable products in order to maintain La Bodega standards of quality./ph3Essential Duties And Responsibilities/h3ulliDocument quantity, quality, type, weight, test result data, and value of products, in order to maintain shipping, receiving, and production records and files./liliCount or estimate quantities of products received./liliWeigh products to maintain relevant records./liliAssist with ensuring proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facility./liliKeep records on the condition of QC specific equipment (knives, refractometers, etc.), and report any damages to QC Manager./liliProvide assistance or direction to other stockroom, distribution center, or storage yard workers./liliDispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors, pursuant to company procedures or as instructed./liliRemove from stock products or loads not meeting quality standards and notify Quality Control management of discrepancies or shortages./liliMaintain, monitor, and clean work areas./liliExamine products and packaging for damage, defects, or shortages, using specification sheets and standards charts/liliInspect and verify Purchase Order quantities for all inbound perishable loads./liliInspect all inbound trucks for signs of pest and rodents before unloading./liliEnsure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to receiving, storage, and shipping. Identify any issues to Quality Control management./liliDocument temperatures of all inbound loads and report to Quality Control management any violations./liliResponsible for verifying proper rotation for all produce inventory and various perishable items./liliPerform daily quality inspections for all perishable items./liliPerform daily date checks and pull all outdated product from pick and reserve slots./liliComplete daily dump and damage report and give to Quality Control management./liliObserve temperatures within cooler and cases and report failures to management/liliPay close attention to damaged or inferior product and bring to the attention of Quality Control management./liliOther related duties as assigned./li/ulh3Skills And Qualifications/h3ulli1-2 years produce or other perishable receiving and inspection experience, knowledge of USDA grades and standards, and 1-2 years in shipping and receiving (preferred)/liliHigh school diploma or GED required/liliAbility to operate electric pallet jack (certain locations only)/liliAbility to work well without close supervision/liliGood oral and written communication skills/liliAbility to multi-task with strong organization skills/liliBasic proficiency with MS Office and Internet applications/liliBilingual English/Spanish a plus./li/ulh3Physical Demands/h3ulliRequired to stand for long periods of time./liliLifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying up to 75 lbs./liliFrequently twisting, turning, reaching, pushing, and pulling; handle tools or controls;/liliReaching with hands and arms; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching./liliExposure to extreme temperature changes (34-55deg), moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment./liliMoving heavy items/liliRunning pallet jacks on occasion (certain locations only)/liliPerforming other physical activities such as moving pallets, loading trucks, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing/li/ulpWork is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment. As part of the job requirements, Team Members may be exposed to work in a production setting and extreme temperature (10 to 100 degrees) at times.
