Volunteer Recruitment And Training CoordinatorCASA of Jefferson and Gilpin CountiesDenver MetroNonprofit, Full-time, Volunteer Management, $52,000 - $52,000GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The mission of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is to provide trained volunteers to advocate in court for the safety and well-being of abused and neglected children. This position will recruit and train volunteers for CASA of Jeffco/Gilpin. This individual will also organize continuing education opportunities for volunteers and coordinate recognition and retention efforts for veteran volunteers. This position is full-time, salried, 40 hours per week.SUPERVISION: Works under the supervision of the Program Director.VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT:· Help set and meet volunteer recruitment goals.· Identify the most effective methods of volunteer recruitment and work to target these efforts in the identified areas.· Explore and develop recruitment strategies to include diversity that meets organizational needs.· Secure and plan CASA presentations and outreach opportunities.· Secure outreach opportunities and staff a CASA info table.· Work with volunteers to staff presentations and CASA booths, and disseminate information on CASA throughout Jefferson and Gilpin counties.· Track effectiveness of recruitment.· Hold CASA orientation sessions as needed.· Serve as a liaison between CASA Program and prospective volunteers.· Respond to inquiries re information in a timely manner.· Serve as a representative of the agency on various committees as requested.VOLUNTEER TRAINING:Following receipt of prospective volunteer application, screen prospective volunteers, schedule and conduct interviews with staff help, and determine who will be invited to train as an advocate, in consultation with the Program Director when invite is questioned.Plan, develop, coordinate, and execute 36-hour volunteer pre-service training, at least 3-4 times per year, looking to increase the number and variety of formats and meeting demands of interested potential volunteers. Coordinate with CASA staff and professionals from the community to assist in presentation of materials at pre-service and in-service training.Coordinate scheduling of training rooms, food/snacks for training and swearing-in ceremony with Office Manager.Monitor and collect background checks for each new volunteer as well as making sure all other volunteer background checks, driver license information, and auto insurance information are up to date annually.Monitor volunteer paperwork and files, to be sure they are entered in database prior to volunteer assignment to Advocate Supervisor.Plan and facilitate swearing-in ceremonies for new volunteers.Provide ongoing communication with current volunteers regarding opportunities for education, involvement in new or special projects, and current eventswithin CASA.Obtain input from volunteers and staff related to development of continuing education and formal/informal recognition and retention activities.Seek assistance and support from staff related to implementation of recognition and retention activities.Work with Program Director to manage budget expenditures related to recognition and retention activities.Perform occasional data analysis related to volunteer training and retention.Conduct surveys and provide support of volunteers regarding their needs.Manage volunteers who are interested in helping CASA with Special Projects and/or are no longer interested in working on a case (or taking a break from casework).Other administrative and data related duties as necessary.VOLUNTEER RETENTION/RECOGNITION:Coordinate with staff regarding nominations of volunteers for awards and recognition within the community.Explore issues related to recognition and retention of volunteers and share with Program Director.Develop and implement a plan to increase volunteer retention.Obtain input from volunteers and staff related to development of continuing education and formal/informal recognition and retention activities.Seek assistance and support from staff related to implementation of recognition and retention activities.Work with Program Director to manage budget expenditures related to recognition and retention activities.Perform occasional data analysis related to volunteer training and retention.Conduct surveys and provide support of volunteers regarding their needs.Manage volunteers who are interested in helping CASA with Special Projects and/or are no longer interested in working on a case (or taking a break from casework).Other administrative and data related duties as necessary.DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree preferred. One (1) year of work-related experience in social services, CASA or related court or social service volunteerism, or other related service field will be considered. Public speaking experience desired. Experience as a trainer preferred.Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:· Proficient in and comfortable with public speaking.· Good working knowledge of training and management of volunteers.· Ability to coordinate, organize, and supervise a variety of individuals requiring varying levels of supervision.· Skill in the use of computers, Microsoft office, and audiovisual equipment.· Must have the ability and willingness to perform job-related travel.· Must have a valid driver's license.· Must have current verification of adequate automobile insurance coverage.· Must submit to criminal background check.· Must have a working telephone number where employee can be reached.· Must be available for flexible day/evening/weekend working hours.BENEFITS: The position has a base salary of $52,000.
