EssentialFunctions and Responsibilities: Strategy
- Collaborativelydevelop and implement annual development plan and strategic initiatives,including regional strategies, that engages donors/supporters, the board, staffand volunteers
- Supportthe Directors team in meeting the goals of the agency
- Ensurethat all Development initiatives have clearly defined outcomes and impact goalsand continually evaluate effectiveness
- Support and supervise thedevelopment team
- Stay informed aboutfundraising best practices and share those with board and staff
- Ensure the quality ofpublic relations and marketing for the agency
- Collaborate with directorsto identify grant opportunities
- Maintain accurate donorrecords and financial tracking
- Provide regular andaccurate updates and projections
- Participate in agencyplanning and strategy activities
- Engage board members indevelopment strategies and ensure accountability
- Workwith the Executive Director to identify, engage, recruit, onboard, and stewardnew board members, committee members, and other community supporters
- Work with the developmentteam to ensure agency events are successful
- Buildmeaningful relationships with supporters and volunteers to strengthencommitment and increase giving
- Identify,cultivate, solicit and steward prospects and new donors
- Connectsupporters to engagement opportunities at HIVA and in the community
- Representthe agency professionally and treat others with respect in all interactions
- Abilityto work well with others, handle stress appropriately, have reliable attendance
- Abilityto use personal cell phone to run agency phone system software, MFA, etc.
- Othertasks as assigned, including training/cross-training other staff as needed
- TBtest (provided at agency)
- ValidOregon driver's license, or valid out of state driver's license with theability to get an Oregon driver's license within 30 days of establishingresidency in Oregon, and a driving record sufficient to be covered by agencyauto insurance policy.
- Abilityto pass agency criminal background check
- Twoyears of relevant experience in fundraising
- Twoyears of supervision experience, including hiring, orientation, coaching,training and support
- Demonstratedexperience in program management and leadership
- Demonstratedsuccess building and growing both corporate giving (sponsorships, workplacegiving, employer matches) and individual giving (major gifts, monthlysustainers, annual appeals) programs, with a track record of year-over-yearrevenue growth in each channel
- Expertisein motivational communication and ability to craft compelling, story-drivenmessaging and dynamic marketing pieces and public relations narratives
- Strongleadership skills & ability to set challenging & attainable goals, toset priorities, to inspire others to high levels of performance, & toleverage ideas into action
- Experiencein effectively prioritizing needs in a complex work environment with multipleand sometimes competing agendas

- Abilityto work 5 days per week for a minimum of 40 hours per week
