Hiring two positions: Cook and Dietary Aide · Full time and part time · Every other weekend

The Oaks of Alamance is an assisted living and memory care community in Burlington, NC, part of The Affordable Senior Housing Foundation. Our kitchen serves residents every day of the year, and mealtimes are one of the best parts of their day. We want a kitchen team that takes pride in good food, served on time, in a clean kitchen.

• Prepare and cook resident meals and snacks from the posted menu, on time and in the right portions
• Follow therapeutic and texture-modified diets (for example mechanical soft, pureed, low sodium, diabetic) exactly as ordered
• Follow safe food handling, temperature logging, labeling and dating, and leftover rules
• Keep the kitchen, equipment and storage areas clean and organized
• Receive and put away deliveries and help keep inventory accurate
• Direct the dietary aide on your shift

• Set up and serve meals and snacks in the dining rooms
• Help with simple food preparation as directed by the cook
• Wash dishes, pots and pans; clean tables, chairs and floors after every meal
• Put condiments away and reset dining rooms so they are clean and ready
• Record cooler and freezer temperatures and report anything out of range
• Treat residents with patience and kindness at every meal

• Cook: prior cooking experience in a restaurant, school, hospital, senior living or other high-volume kitchen
• Dietary Aide: no experience required - we will train the right person
• Dependable attendance - residents eat on time every day
• Willing to work every other weekend and assigned holidays
• Ability to stand for most of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs
• Reliable transportation to and from Burlington, NC
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening as required for North Carolina adult care homes
• Food handler or ServSafe certification preferred (we can help you get it)
