R&D Engineer II (Medical Devices)- HYBRID (Alpharetta, GA)

Job Position Summary This role performs research and development activities related to the O&M Products & Healthcare Services Portfolio, focusing on the Medical Apparel line. The candidate will lead small to medium‑size projects, support senior engineers, and work with cross‑functional teams including Product Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, and Manufacturing. Responsibilities Define product requirements, prototype concepts, and manufacturable designs. Test products to ensure they meet defined specifications. Collaborate with internal manufacturing, contract manufacturers, and finished‑good suppliers for disposable medical products. Provide guidance to lower‑level engineers, interns, and co‑ops. Document work within defined procedures and generate test data reports. Develop and protect intellectual property according to company protocols. Create and manage project schedules, obtain buy‑in from cross‑functional groups, and drive decisions with minimal oversight. Respond to customer requirements and ensure expectations are met or exceeded. Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% as needed, requiring a valid passport. Essential Job Functions Work independently on basic to moderately complex engineering tasks with moderate guidance. Apply technical principles and leading‑edge thinking to design and manufacturing projects. Propose solutions for change and ambiguity, making sound decisions under pressure. Communicate effectively with cross‑functional team members. Coach peers and improve overall R&D outcomes. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills. Basic understanding of statistical analysis tools. Experience in development or change management of class I or II medical devices. Knowledge of Quality System Regulations (Design Control, Process Validation) compliant with FDA and other regulatory agencies. Ability to resolve technical issues and implement solutions. Experience leading small to medium scope projects. Ability to interface with healthcare professionals and medical device customers. Must be able to obtain a passport for travel. Education & Experience BS in Engineering or Science related field with 2+ years of relevant experience. Or MS in Engineering with 0+ years of relevant experience. Or PhD in Engineering with 0+ years of relevant experience. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually (actual compensation may vary).
