About the Position

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiology Specialty: Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: All H Days Hours per Shift: 4 to 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R) Must-Have: - Orthopedic-specific experience - Experience with Carestream Compass/Fit - Preferably 3+ years of experience - Weight-bearing orthopedic x-ray experience - Ambulatory clinic experience Description: The position involves performing orthopedic weight-bearing films and orthopedic packages. The technologist will conduct imaging studies but does not handle soft tissue, abdominal work, and chest imaging. Each technologist will perform an average of 15-25 scans/studies per day, working collaboratively with a partner. The technology and equipment used include Carestream, Siemens, and EOS x-ray systems. The department has a team-oriented culture with positive feedback from staff members. There are 8 Carestream Fit/Compass systems and 1 Siemens portable. Radiologists are not in-house, as orthopedic MDs read their own images. No IV starts are required for this position. Self-scheduling or block scheduling is not available; the manager handles scheduling. Weekend and holiday work are not required. Scrubs should be clean and professional in any color except excessive red. Technologists will be assigned to a specific pod based on proficiency and comfort level assessed during orientation. The team consists of 22 staff members supporting 42 providers and APPs. The environment is fast-paced with a focus on collaborative teamwork. X-rays are scheduled based on the specific type of MD available daily.
