Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) position in Normal, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Float pool position within a hospital inpatient setting, covering multiple units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab
• Patient population includes acute and chronically ill patients with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, dysrhythmia, congestive heart failure, stroke, cancer, cellulitis, post-surgical care, and chest pain
• Performs specialized skills including IV venipuncture, blood administration, medication administration, and post-operative care management
• Documents all patient care using Epic EMR
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts on a rotation basis
• May float to other Carle Health system hospitals in addition to home unit

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; temporary license accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• College diploma in nursing (or equivalent) required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Floats to various inpatient units and provides care to diverse patient populations across the health system
• Responsible for completing assessments, developing and modifying care plans, administering medications, and educating patients and families on care and discharge instructions
• Delegates patient care tasks to HCTs and validates completion of delegated tasks throughout the shift
• Conducts bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintains patient communication boards
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care
• Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at Carle Health for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any Carle Health location after reaching the 1-year mark
