Senior Field Service Technician

Role & Responsibilities In this role, you will execute service work per work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality customer service and execute service work as per customer orders and expectations, ensuring customer retention through effective communication of timelines and expectations. Work on-site with customers to identify opportunities for operational improvement and eliminate pain points. Perform field service tasks, including identifying technical issues and conducting on‑site troubleshooting within certified areas. Execute installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end‑of‑life services, and replacements. Support certification of Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians; coach technicians and supervise complex site activities; act as trainer when needed. Prepare material lists for service activities and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment meet quality standards and are available. Proactively identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Build and maintain positive customer relationships; identify potential new sales opportunities and communicate internally. Identify opportunities for product and quality improvements; provide recommendations to management for improving operations and customer service. Follow safety protocols and maintain safe work and environmental practices; report unsafe practices and incidents. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 6+ years of experience servicing critical power equipment, OR Associate's Degree in electrical technology with 8+ years of experience, OR High School Diploma/GED and 10+ years of equivalent experience servicing critical power equipment. Advanced ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization; collaborates well with others. Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office products; moderate ability to project manage using MS Project or Excel. Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results. Advanced ability to stay organized and meet deadlines on administrative duties. Works with a sense of urgency and ownership; completes tasks until the job is finished. Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US. Benefits Annual salary range: $83,300 to $133,280.
