Battery Maintenance Technician Depower

Tekberry is seeking a Battery Maintenance Technician Depower to support electric vehicle (EV) battery production operations for our client, a leader in EV battery lifecycle management and advanced battery technologies.

This hands-on role focuses on safely disassembling, de-energizing, inspecting, repairing, and preparing high-voltage EV batteries and battery components for refurbishment, recycling, or reuse. The ideal candidate enjoys mechanical work, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the disassembly and de-energization of EV battery packs using hand and power tools.
• Inspect battery packs, wiring, electrical connections, and components for wear or damage.
• Replace faulty components, fuses, and battery parts to restore functionality.
• Perform basic battery diagnostics using electrical testing equipment.
• Support battery repair, refurbishment, and reassembly operations.
• Sort battery components and related materials.
• Package and prepare battery parts for shipment or storage.
• Properly handle and contain battery fluids in accordance with safety procedures.
• Maintain organization within the production area.
• Enter maintenance, production, and repair information into the Alfred CMMS database.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Follow written work instructions and quality procedures.
• Follow all company quality management procedures.
• Wear required PPE and adhere to all safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Ensure completed work meets production and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Up to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, mechanical assembly, maintenance, warehouse, or a related field.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and email communication.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification or degree in automotive, mechanical, electrical, or related field.
• Experience working with EV batteries, automotive repair, manufacturing, or industrial equipment.
• Mechanical troubleshooting or repair experience.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 65 lbs. individually and 137 lbs. with team assistance.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to work safely while wearing required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.

Work Environment

This is an onsite essential role supporting EV battery production and refurbishment operations in a manufacturing environment. Employees work around high-voltage battery systems while following strict safety and quality procedures. The environment is fast-paced and requires physical activity throughout the workday.
