Location: South Madison, WI

A growing client in the Madison area is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of custom electrical power distribution buildings ("E-Houses") for data centers, renewable energy projects, and utility/grid infrastructure. This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who wants ownership of electrical design work within a rapidly expanding segment of the power systems industry.

Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for full-cycle electrical design, equipment specification, and delivery of project-ready electrical drawing packages and EBOMs. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for custom E-House and power distribution projects from concept through production.
• Develop electrical design intent, equipment specifications, and electrical bills of materials (EBOMs).
• Provide direction for drawing packages while a dedicated design team supports drafting work (schematics, wiring diagrams, one-lines, etc.).
• Identify and resolve design issues uncovered during design reviews and cross-functional collaboration.
• Work with production and manufacturing teams to support build activities and ensure design accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Maintain strong communication with project management and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, project engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems, electrical standards, and applicable codes.
• Experience creating and managing bills of materials (BOMs).
• Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
• Experience with medium-voltage or low-voltage power distribution equipment is a plus.
