Job Details Schedule: Part-Time Flexible Schedule Pay: $19 - $20.50 DOE Job Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for meticulously cleaning the residents’ apartments, public areas, and work areas in accordance with community and company guidelines, policies, and procedures, and for taking directions from the Executive Director, Maintenance Director, Director of Housekeeping, Lead Housekeeper, or designee. They are a key part of our commitment to provide a safe, comfortable, and inviting community for all staff, guests, and residents, by demonstrating superior customer service and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness that supports the community’s well‑being. Duties & Responsibilities Perform a full range of housekeeping duties, including cleaning and sanitizing resident apartments, common areas, and offices; focusing on surfaces, fixtures, windows, floors, and carpets to ensure a high standard of cleanliness. Dust, fluff, and straighten furniture in internal and external public areas; ensure cleanliness and safety. Follow established work and cleaning schedules as closely as possible. Ensure safety signs are posted before tasks that could cause slips, falls, or other hazards and remove them when completed. Continuously monitor and remove all trash and waste from interior and exterior areas, disposing in designated containers. Maintain PPE, safety gear, and chemical handling protocols; securely store all chemicals and hazardous materials. Keep work areas attractive, safe, and hazard‑free by storing equipment and tools after use. Present a positive and professional image; greet residents warmly and respond courteously to simple requests. Assist residents with laundry services as scheduled. Report health, safety, or sanitation concerns immediately to supervisor. Encourage teamwork through open communication with co‑workers and other departments. Education & Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience in housekeeping or a similar cleaning role preferred; on‑the‑job training is available. Required Competencies & Certifications Compassion for the elderly and ability to interact effectively with people of different ages, backgrounds, and physical, emotional, and cognitive well‑being levels. Ability to work in a resident‑centered environment with exposure to unpleasant odors, blood, bodily fluids, hazardous waste, or infection risks. Must be 18 or older. Must complete required background clearances, health screening, and a negative TB test within 7 days of employment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to follow written and spoken directions. Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, and guests. Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills. Present a positive and professional image. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to use standard cleaning equipment; mobile; stand for prolonged periods; walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions. May need to lift up to 50 lb and push up to 250 lb; assist in moving residents during routine transfers and emergencies. Reasonable accommodations provided as required by law.
