This position offers the opportunity to work primarily with Pre-K students while making a meaningful impact on children with communication challenges, including students who utilize AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices . Assignment Details
- Start Date: August 13, 2026
- End Date: May 26, 2027
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Daily Schedule: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Student Population: Primarily Pre-K, with some Kindergarten students
- Caseload: Approximately 40 students (subject to change based on district needs)
- IEP System: Embrace
- Therapy Space: Dedicated office space available, with significant push-in therapy services at the Pre-K level
Key Responsibilities
As a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to Pre-K and Kindergarten students
- Conduct speech-language evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Create and monitor measurable IEP goals and objectives
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support students who use AAC devices and communication systems
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, special education staff, and administrators
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation
- Deliver both push-in and pull-out therapy services as appropriate
QualificationsRequired
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Ability to work effectively within a school-based setting
Preferred
- Strong AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) experience
- Previous school-based SLP experience
- Experience working with early childhood, Pre-K, or Kindergarten populations
- Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates may be considered
