Ob Summary The Non- Ferrous Scale Operator is responsible for accurately operating scales within a warehouse or outdoor environment. This role ensures all scale tickets are complete and accurate, reflecting the correct customer information, material types, and weights. As a customer-facing position, it requires strong communication and excellent customer service skills. Key Responsibilities Accurately inspect and process inbound and outbound materials, ensuring proper weights, material descriptions, and grades. Determine material upgrades and enter accurate data into the inventory system. Assist with material sorting and processing as needed. Support loading and unloading of vehicles. Maintain precise and complete documentation of all scale transactions. Communicate material discrepancies promptly to Operations Managers. Follow detailed specifications for outbound loads. Adhere to all company safety and environmental standards. Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Prior experience in scrap or recycling operations is preferred. Crane Operator certification is required or preferred depending on location. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Basic proficiency with computer systems. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds. Competencies Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions. Treats all individuals with courtesy and respect. Capable of working in outdoor conditions year-round. Able to follow verbal and written instructions, including all safety protocols.
