Job Description Summary: Mechanic Sunbelt Rentals, a leading equipment rental company, is seeking a skilled mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a varied fleet, including aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as generators, pumps, HVAC, and oil/gas systems. As a mechanic in our safety‑focused environment, you will build and develop skills throughout your career path and work with an incredible team. Responsibilities Preventive maintenance of fleet equipment. Diagnose and repair diesel, heavy equipment, and specialty line machinery. Operate and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems. Use a comprehensive set of tools to maintain safety and minimize downtime. Adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced operational environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; trade school or equivalent training preferred. 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty line equipment such as generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas machinery. Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical system troubleshooting. Proficiency with mechanic’s tools and ability to maintain a well‑organized tool cabinet. Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location. Physical Demands Typical duties require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting ≥ 50 pounds, performed indoors or outdoors as required.
