Seasonal Server

Gejos in Clear Lake IA is looking to hire seasonal servers. Applicants must be friendly, hardworking, team oriented, honest, comfortable with food and liquor service. Must be available to work consistently, have a positive attitude at all times and be an excellent communicator.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing courteous, professional service to both internal and external guests, ensuring their needs are met and that they feel welcomed and valued.
• Taking full responsibility for people, product, and profit, ensuring the highest standards of service and quality are maintained at all times.
• Ensuring cleanliness and safety of work areas, performing opening and closing procedures in accordance with restaurant standards.
• Adhering to procedures for bar tabs, table transfers, and accurate cash/credit handling to ensure financial integrity.
• Upselling food and beverage items, demonstrating extensive knowledge of menu items, including alcoholic beverages. Responding to guest inquiries with confidence and accuracy.
• Checking identification for age verification and monitoring guest needs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Developing personalized relationships with guests, proactively resolving any complaints with hospitality and professionalism.
• Ensuring the accuracy of orders and delivering them promptly, collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff to provide exceptional service.
• Managing inventory and restocking supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
• Exhibiting flexibility for varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Being prepared to be on-call for scheduling as needed.
• Working closely with other members of the restaurant team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for guests.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and experience include:

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a willingness to adapt to changing schedules.
• Availability on weekends is required, as well as on holiday when the restaurant is open.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to work in hot, humid, and potentially fast-paced conditions.
• Strong ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions promptly.

Benefits:

Seasonal roles lasting six months or less are not eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, or retirement plans. Overtime pay may apply for hours worked over 40 per week, per federal law. All other benefits are limited to those required by federal law.
