Description
  • Assess patients across all age groups utilizing standardized tests and observational analysis.
  • Create customized treatment strategies to meet immediate goals and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on aspects like fluency, language, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work in partnership with interdisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, nurses, case managers, and family members, to establish a seamless approach to care.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and families, enhancing progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, maintaining care continuity throughout all stages of treatment.
  • Ensure prompt and precise documentation that aligns with both state and federal regulations as well as organizational standards.
  • Commit to ongoing learning through continued education efforts and collaboration with fellow professionals.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within 30 days of hire.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based methodologies for treating patients across various age groups, with proficiency in understanding speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Capability to adapt therapy methods to culturally diverse populations.
  • Strong clinical judgement paired with problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with electronic documentation and compliance with healthcare documentation standards.
