Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience in step down or progressive care unit. License: Active state RN license or compact license. Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac experience is required. Experience with CABG and valve post-operative care is mandatory. Experience demonstrating a patient ratio of 1:5 in work history is essential. EPIC charting experience is required. Candidates must pass an online EKG tele-competency assessment before starting. Nurses must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips. Description: The position requires cardiac nursing experience. Candidates must have a background in post-operative care for CABG and valve procedures. Submissions should reflect experience in a step down or progressive care unit, not ICU experience. The targeted patient ratios are between 1:4 to 1:6. Travelers will be the first to float at management discretion. Agency may assign travelers to other specialty clusters. Assignments could include high-risk respiratory units and related support roles. Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is needed. Staff may float between different campuses and locations when necessary. The unit specializes in pre and post-operative open heart management. Advanced care for cardiac patients is provided with continuous telemetry. Navy blue scrubs are required for the role. All pre-approved time off requests must be submitted with initial applications. Candidates must be comfortable with floating without any restrictions. No references are required for this application. Disclosures regarding previous employment will be needed if applicable.
