Position Summary

The MRI Technologist works in an outpatient setting, performing imaging procedures, preparing patients and equipment, monitoring patient conditions, and reviewing imaging results for quality.

Key Responsibilities

Review patient history and physician orders.

Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and examinations to support understanding and cooperation.

Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications when ordered and within scope of practice.

Continually monitor patient condition and report or respond to changes as appropriate.

Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.

Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.

Position patients and perform imaging procedures.

Analyze imaging results and identify image quality issues.

Address image quality concerns through patient repositioning and repeating procedures as needed.

Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Requirements

Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences

Mandatory Credentials: Registered in MRI with ARRT or certified by ARMRIT. New Mexico state MRI license, or ability to obtain one. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
