About the Position

Job Title

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room

Location

San Antonio, TX | Acute Care – Adult Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days | 13 Weeks | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Rotating on-call expected (averaging approximately 2 eight-hour shifts per month)

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in a high-volume, 22-OR adult surgical suite performing a broad range of procedures including General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, GYN, GYN Oncology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastics, Burn, Urology, Podiatry, and Colo-Rectal Surgery
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio, ensuring proper instrumentation, sterile field integrity, and patient safety throughout all surgical cases
• Support a large and active robotics program; assist with robotic-assisted surgical procedures as directed
• Utilize the Meditech EMR system for accurate and timely documentation
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage as required by the unit
• Collaborate with a team of approximately 120 staff members across day and overnight shifts in a 24-hour in-house coverage model

Required Qualifications

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of surgical technologist experience in an OR setting
• Ability to fulfill rotating on-call obligations as assigned

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Robotic surgical experience strongly preferred; facility operates a large, active robotics program
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties (e.g., Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Urology)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
