Dozer Operator Position

We are seeking a Dozer Operator to join our team in Grand Prairie, Texas. Operating a D6 dozer, you will be responsible for executing grading and excavation work using GPS technology. Your role will involve managing materials, maintaining equipment, and working collaboratively with our team to achieve project goals.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Equipment Operation:

  • Operate D6 dozer safely and efficiently across various terrain conditions
  • Execute proper cutting patterns for both flat ground and slopes
  • Manage materials and analyze work areas effectively
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings, including infrastructure and other equipment
  • Utilize GPS technology for precise grading operations

• Technical Skills:

  • Work with Trimble GPS systems, CB460, and Earth Works software
  • Understand and execute cut and fill operations
  • Set appropriate offsets and layers for grading work
  • Read and interpret grade plans and project specifications
  • Identify and properly respond to site conditions

• Equipment Care:

  • Conduct thorough daily equipment inspections
  • Monitor equipment performance, including engine sounds, fluid levels, and temperatures
  • Report any mechanical issues or concerns promptly
  • Maintain clean and well-organized equipment
  • Park equipment safely for maintenance work

• Safety and Professionalism:

  • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols
  • Maintain situational awareness of job site conditions
  • Communicate effectively with team members
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and teamwork
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience operating a D6 dozer or similar equipment
• Proficiency with Trimble GPS systems, CB460, and Earth Works software
• Valid Driver's License
• Clean driving record and ability to pass drug screening
• Ability to read and interpret grade plans
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• Experience with cut and fill operations
• Knowledge of proper cutting patterns
• Ability to work efficiently without damaging equipment
• Understanding of soil conditions and grading principles
• Experience with other heavy equipment

Physical Demands & Requirements:

• Ability to climb up and down equipment safely
• Capable of sitting for extended periods
• Able to work in various weather conditions
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds occasionally

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience, with overtime opportunities and benefits package.

This position plays a critical role in keeping high-production grading equipment operational and minimizing downtime on large-scale earthmoving projects.
