· Number of Beds - 42

· Number of Staff – 103

· Type of staff:

o Day Shift – 1 CNC, 1 Transport RN, RN’s dependent on census and acuity, 1 unit secretary, 1-2 unit techs dependent on census

o Night Shift - – 1 CNC, 1 Transport RN, RN’s dependent on census and acuity, 1 unit secretary, 1-2 unit techs dependent on census

· Patient Ratios – L3 2:1 and 1:1 dependent on acuity L2: 3:1

· Type of equipment – Radiant warmers, isolettes, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, vents, oscillators, JETs, CPAP, NIPPV, High Flow nasal cannula, nasal cannulas, EKG monitors, breast milk warmer

· EMR – CPN and Meditech

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for: 

Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

· Safe medication administration including calculation of medications

· Administer medications and EMB using the 5 patient rights

· Appropriate handling of EMB

· Care of patients with NG/OG tubes

· Follow feeding orders and recommendations from OT/ST

· Care of patients of CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Nasal Cannula

· Care for patients with PIV’s, PICC’s, UAC/UVC

· Safely care for patients 22 weeks and above

· Understands use of all equipment in the NICU

· Promotes safe sleeping at 32-34 gestation

· Can demonstrate developmentally appropriate care when handling preterm infant

· Proficient in lab draws

· Knowledgeable in escalating patient concerns

· NAS scoring

Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.

· Experience with ETT, Vent’s Jet’s, Cooling, Surgical patients
