\n \nAs a full-time Mechanical Engineer in the Machine shop at Aalberts, located in Pageland, SC, you will provide technical support to Operations, Sales, Procurement, and QA teams. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing best practices to produce the Apollo Valves product line. This includes but is not limited to: designing/revising tooling and fixturing, creating/revising models and drawings, troubleshooting machine/tooling/programming issues, development of standard work, and participating in lean production activities.
\n \nThe Mechanical Engineer will assist with specification, procurement, and installation of machinery, tooling, and software. The Mechanical Engineer will serve as an integral team member within the Manufacturing Engineering Group, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

- Investigate and implement new process improvements and advancements in manufacturing methods and/or technologies. \n
- Evaluates and recommends changes in methods and procedures in assigned areas of responsibility. \n
- Specify and assist in the specification, procurement, and installation of machinery and tooling. \n
- Design tooling, fixtures, and inspection equipment through the use of 3D solid modeling and 2D drafting software. Solid Edge a plus. \n
- Provide support in the form of troubleshooting tooling, machinery, machining, and programming problems. \n
- Provide CNC programming support through troubleshooting and use of Esprit CAM software. \n
- Participate in the product design process to aid in designing manufacturing. \n
- Assists in the development of maintenance (TPM) plans and instructions for all machinery in the department. \n
- Performs other special projects/tasks assigned by management. \n
- Participates in continuous improvement or problem/solving activities. \n
- Assist in the development and upkeep of Standard Work \n
- Complete additional duties assigned by your manager. \n

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Associates in Applied Science Degree. \n
- Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology or applicable course work combined with work experience. \n
- Proficient in 3D CAD Modeling software; modeling, assembly, and drafting. Solid Edge experience a plus. \n
- CNC programming experience is desired. Esprit experience a plus. \n
- Machine tool design, selection, and, application experience. Machining experience (drilling, turning, milling and grinding, calculations of speeds-and-feeds and how these relate to surface finishing and quality) \n
- Knowledge of cutting tool materials and geometry. Roll forming, hydroforming, welding and general fabrication experience is a plus. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint. \n
- Able to function in a highly collaborative environment and interact positively and openly with employees, supervisors, and other departments. \n
- Able to work constructively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. \n
- Familiarity with BOM, Routings, and Time Studies. \n
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing basics (8 Wastes, TPM, Kaizen, SMED). \n
- Five-plus years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. \n

- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, or climb for extended periods. \n
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. \n
- Use of hands to handle tools, parts, and equipment; ability to reach with hands and arms. \n
- Regularly required to speak, hear, and see clearly with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids. \n
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, or in awkward positions as needed for repairs or inspections. \n
- Exposure to machining environment involving exposure to loud noise, scrap metal, rotating hydraulic equipment. \n
- May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, hot surfaces, and fumes or airborne particles. \n
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, hearing protection, and respirators when applicable. \n
- Ability to respond to alarms and emergencies in a fast-paced industrial setting. \n
- Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate with all departments, vendors and colleagues. Specifically, upper intermediate (B2) language level in English. \n
travel requirements
\nOccasional travel (domestic and international) to tool shows, training, machine tool manufacturers up to 10% of the time.
