Management Associate

Job Summary The Production Management Associate is a leadership development role designed to immerse early‑career professionals in the full lifecycle of aggregates production. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Associate enters an intensive 18‑24‑month formal training program that combines technical engineering applications with frontline supervisory experience. The primary objective is to master operational, financial, and safety standards. Upon successful completion, the Associate is prepared for promotion into a Production Foreman or Assistant Plant Manager role. Key Duties and Responsibilities Apply engineering principles to assist in pit development, plant design, and production capacity enhancement. Operate and maintain critical plant equipment including primary/secondary crushers, screening plants, conveyors, and heavy off‑road machinery. Assist in the technical aspects of the blasting process, including surveying, laying out drill patterns, and overseeing shot loading. Perform and oversee standardized quality control tests to ensure all materials meet ASTM, DOT, and customer‑specific requirements. Ensure 100% adherence to MSHA regulations and internal safety cultures. Lead daily safety walk‑arounds and equipment pre‑shift inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Monitor and enforce environmental measures such as dust suppression, water management, and reclamation efforts in accordance with permits. Provide direct leadership for hourly employees, managing diverse crews in a high‑pressure production environment. Participate in corporate training sessions focused on conflict resolution, time management, and delegation. Maintain rigorous documentation, including weekly activity reports for District Managers and daily production logs for KPIs. Assist the Plant Manager in reviewing P&L statements, tracking operational expenditures, and identifying cost‑reduction opportunities. Act as a liaison for customers and vendors, ensuring high‑quality service and timely load‑out of materials. Contribute to long‑term mine planning and annual budgeting processes to ensure site sustainability. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management. Previous industry exposure or experience is useful, but no prior full‑time experience required. Knowledge of MSHA compliance and regulation. Familiarity with the mining and aggregates industry. Tech savvy and high learning agility. Curious, proactive, and leadership‑oriented. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Basic financial acumen and analytical ability. Compensation Base salary begins at $65,000, exclusive of benefits or bonuses. Additional compensation, including discretionary and non‑discretionary bonuses, is based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience.
