Store Manager

What does the Store Manager do? Under the leadership of the District Manager, the Store Manager directly leads the Merchandise Manager, Customer Service Manager, and all associates of a store. The Store Manager also leads the Support Lead, Freight Lead & Lead Cashier (if applicable) through the MM & CSM. Key Responsibilities Responsible for operational execution and total store follow‑up, driving customer experience and sales goals. Recruits, hires, trains, and retains associates and managers; identifies internal talent and creates development opportunities. Manages and executes overall store standards to align with brand standards. Drives profitability focus on total store sales and expense control. Ensures proper execution of cash handling policies, including opening/closing procedures, daily paperwork, and bank deposits. Enforces all corporate SOPs and collaborates with District Manager and HR for coaching, counseling, performance documentation, and associate relations. Prioritizes and plans corporate communications; maintains the associate and management schedule in Kronos. Manages weekly, monthly, and annual payroll budgets and schedules. Maintains a clean and safe environment for associates and customers, including sales floor, back room, manager’s office, and restrooms. Authorizes register functions such as post voids, returns, and associate discounts. Ensures execution of the Market Plan and merchandising directives. Leads company data integrity processes and physical inventory. Oversees receiving and stocking procedures and maintains them effectively. Provides exceptional customer service training and role‑modeling; holds associates accountable for job responsibilities. Manages ad set creation and follow‑up. Performs store maintenance tasks including garbage removal, sweeping, bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room. Additional responsibilities are determined by the District Manager based on store needs. Essential Job Functions Frequently operate a computer and printer; occasionally operate a cash register. Occasionally use ladders to retrieve and put away stock. Maintain posture by kneeling, bending, twisting, and stooping as required in the stock room and sales floor. Identify and interpret email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and SOPs. Communicate accurately with customers on the telephone and face‑to‑face, and exchange information with managers and coworkers. Move across the sales floor, directing associates and assisting customers, and to and from the back office. Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of management experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task and think creatively. Capacity to maintain composure under pressure.
