About the Position

Job Title: EEG Technologist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: EEG Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Virginia or compact state license required Certifications: ABRET, BLS, CLTM, R.EEGT Must-Have: - EMU experience required - Epic charting experience required Description: Nights shift, 3x12-hour schedule. Cannot take block schedule requests. Locals are allowed at the same rate. Candidate must have experience in epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU). Patient ratio experience of 1:4 or 1:8 is preferred. Charting system experience required. Certification in adult ICU, adult inpatient, adult outpatient, ambulatory EEG, ECI Brain Death, electrode placement, emergency department, NICU, PICU, portable recording, seizure studies, sleep-deprived EEG, and sleep EEG is essential. Floating between adult and pediatric patients may be required. Candidates may be involved in detecting epileptiform discharges and seizure activity. Unit care includes routine EEG, continuous EEG, long-term monitoring, and video EEG monitoring. Pediatric and adult epilepsy monitoring will occur within the unit. The average patient census indicates diverse age groups including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Candidates will work with interdisciplinary support teams. Compliance to natural nail policy is mandatory. Candidates may undergo fingerprinting as part of the hiring process. Modules must be completed by the end of the orientation week.
