The City of Gastonia is seeking candidates for a position that involves supervising the installation, maintenance, repair, and construction of municipal water and sewer lines and related areas.

The duties include inspecting water and sewer lines/taps, coordinating the use of equipment and manpower, supervising the installation and repair of municipal water and sewer lines, performing troubleshooting and repairs to specialized electronic control systems, providing safety and ISO training, and responding to complaints from the public.

The position requires knowledge of construction, repairs, and maintenance of municipal water and sewer lines, OSHA standards, and computer operations. It also requires physical demands such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

The worker will be subject to various environmental conditions including inside and outside conditions, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, oils, and confined spaces.
